  • First Collection of Mothers & Daughters Short Stories

    This literary contest was the opportunity for over 2 000 women to talk about the special bond that unites mother and daughter. Over 50 short stories were collected in a first anthology. Proceeds from the copyrights went to the not-for-profit organization Vivre comme Avant (Live as Before), an aid movement for women who have breast cancer.

    Thanks to its success story, Comptoir joined the Japanese group Fast Retailing, 6th textile group worldwide, which currently owns brands such as Uniqlo, Princesse tam.tam and Theory. This partnership has helped the brand reinforce and develop its presence internationally.

    In 2007, birth of a line of steel watches. Comptoir also invented a medallion in brushed silver. Modern in its design, it is worn like a lucky charm.

    In partnership with the Fair Trade brand Muuñ, Comptoir proposed a colored basket in woven straw. Designed by a Japanese fashion designer, this basket is made by women from the village of Nyariga in the north of Ghana.

  • The Comptoir Minnie

    On the occasion of Mickey's 80th birthday, in January 2008, Disney and Ready-to-Wear Paris invited 80 designers to dress Minnie in their brand colors. Following a « mini » world tour, the dolls were auctioned off and proceeds went to the House of Solenn, which welcomes teenagers in difficulty.

    In 2008, the brand organized a cooking recipe contest under the aegis of an exceptional jury. Elaborated by Mothers and Daughters, the recipes were new, original and tasty.     In Summer 2008, Comptoir des Cotonniers brought out a bicycle and a tandem! Sporting the colors of Comptoir, the resolutely retro bike has a style of its own. As for the tandem, it was created as a humorous hint to mother and daughter duos.

  • The Spring-Summer 2010 advertising campaign n°1

    A mother, a daughter, a shared fashion moment. Two worlds, two styles, two photos which tell two fashion stories around one piece of the collection. All this, in a sassy and playful tone, where the “I LOVE” and “I HATE” appear side by side and echo each other. Signed by BETC Luxe, the first December episode of this campaign is shot by photographer Arnaud Pyvka.

    In July 2010, to celebrate the brand’s 15th birthday, Comptoir des Cotonniers invited all young girls from every country to reinvent and customize the Comptoir trench coat. Out of the 250 applications received, a Comptoir and Grazia (French edition) jury chose its three favorite trench coats!

  • Comptoir is 15 years old!

    And a big party was organized to celebrate the event at the prestigious Salomon de Rothschild Hotel in Paris on September 30, 2010. The brand celebrated this birthday in fitting style alongside Uniqlo and Princesse tam.tam. Journalists, partners, bloggers and celebrities partied until the break of day.

  • Five new boutiques across the world

    In the United States, the Greenwich boutique in Connecticut opened its doors in May, followed by the Columbus store in November. In Switzerland, the brand opened its first two own brand stores in Lausanne and then Geneva. In France, the rue du Jour boutique has moved to 35 rue Etienne Marcel since November 26, 2010.

  • Spring campagn

    A bucolic atmosphere, a day’s vacation, a getaway, an escape to the sun, somewhere in the south of France in the fresh air. A moped ride. Lisa and Lula have kept their city jackets and mixed them up for the occasion with a touch of gingham: a flowing blouse for one and a short skirt for the other. Arnaud Pyvka has successfully captured the freshness and spontaneity of a moment shared.

  • Store opening in Marseille and New York

    Comptoir opens a new 170m² flagship store in Marseille at 29 rue Grignan. The brand also opened its 6th store in New York, on Bleecker Street in May 2011, followed by Madison Avenue in June 2011.

    Krama by K’s designer, the journalist Tina Kieffer discovered Krama during one of her many trips to Cambodia, and collaborated with Comptoir to launch the ethnic on-trend bikini of summer 2011.

    On October 3, 2011 a Comptoir des Cotonniers music album was launched in all Comptoir stores and in specialist stores (Fnac, Virgin, Starter Music). “Comptoir monte le son/Comptoir turns up the volume” is an album that combines young musical talents, Comptoir des Cotonniers favorites and the new movers and shakers in independent music, who have played live for the runway shows.
